The image of a cow eating a rabbit is from the cover of the scientific journal, “Agricultural Ecology” from the mid-late 1990’s or so. Turns out cattle will eat carrion, presumably to obtain the calcium in the bones. Yes, they eat small dead or dying (i.e., slow-moving) animals, bones and all.
Natural, but oh, if cows ever started hunting in packs, we are toast.
