Snow (and Ice) Day: Isabelle’s Adventure

|

Today it snowed in Raleigh, the second time this year. About half and inch fell this morning but is mostly gone after it warmed up this afternoon. I went out and took pictures of my back yard this morning while the snow was still there.

Our cat Isabelle (the orange one) went outside with me and decided that she’d have an adventure. She ran off the deck, into the snow, at which point I had to go inside to put on some more clothes to chase her down in the snow. When I got back out side, I expected her to be under our deck, but instead she’d run under the neighbor’s deck. And to make matters worse, the door to the neighbor’s crawlspace was wide open. Of course, I freaked out and starting fussing at Isabelle to not go into the crawlspace. Of course, she did it anyway.

I spent the next five minutes under my neighbor’s townhouse, trying to get Isabelle to come out of the crawlspace. No dice. I don’t know my neighbor’s well; they are three coeds at NCSU. I was worried that they might spot me and think that I am some crazy, eight-am prowler.

So I left Isabelle in the crawlspace and went back inside to get a flashlight. When I got back, I was able to use the flashlight to get Isabelle to come to me, and I promptly pulled her out of the crawlspace and tossed her inside our house.
